For the 3rd time in 3 yrs, the KY Teachers Retirement System's counsel told the GA that using sick days to increase pension benefits isn't part of the inviolable contract. Wonder if @AndyBeshearKY talked to him before he filed in frivolous lawsuit? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bkND8cgXRM … #kyga18

All of the sudden the KY GOP is worried about terms in an “inviolable contract” after stripping teachers and state workers of their pension and benefits, while enriching their corporate buddies. Who’s the thug? #kyleg18

Frivolous? How about getting paid full-time for a PART-time job on the taxpayer's dime, with a guaranteed FULL pension AND defined benefits?! Let's see the details of your pension plans since you seem to so easily scrutinize ours!

I’m thinking the suit has a lot more to do with losing a defined benefit pension than sick days for service time. Inviable means, it is illegal to change the contract.

Agreed. The defined benefit plan is one of the few financial attractions that might convince someone to pursue a teaching career as opposed to a higher-paying private sector job. Good luck getting science and math teachers if it goes away.

The real question is how can the KY GOP mess up this bad their first chance to control state government in eons? The party, led by its inept Governor, is quickly trying to empty their every seat in Frankfort for a Democrat.

I think the point is is that YOU violated the inviolable contract, then voted to dissolve it?!? Where's the outrage?! If all you're worried about is sick day pay, then bring back the inviolable contract!!!!

Wait...what...the inviolable contract's still a thing? Oh, I thought it was passed into law this week to dissolve it. Wait...what's your argument again? 🙄
