    It's always FASCINATING to me when authors write multipage acknowledgments thanking everyone from the coffee shop baristas where they wrote the book to their favorite bands, but not their copy editor or production team.

    Turns out that the renumbering problem wasn't my fault. Author had deleted 2 refs during review (otherwise, I renumbered correctly), & Word decided not to correctly show that I deleted those 2 refs.
