In the last 24h, 3 climate activist men have told me I have no credibility because I fly + support aviation solns (and I must stop), 100 nice Christian women are outraged I think we should talk about climate at Thanksgiving, and I’ve had to block well over 100 mean + rude people.

I am aware they view it as a badge of honour + spread all kinds of lies about me as a result; but my focus is on the 91% of us who can be moved, not the 9% who can’t, and that is why I believe blocking is the lesser of the two evils. But I respect & understand your choice too

They may foolishly view it as a badge of honour but, in reality, it is a badge of shame.

Science communicators don't owe trolls a platform, their attention, or a second of time. We all have the right to choose whom we engage with on Twitter.
-
Nobody does owe trolls anything.

Maxime Waters said it best, “I am reclaiming my time.” Jealously guard your time because one never knows how much of it there will be.

I didn't know this. I think I'll do more blocking & less muting. Not that my coat tails amount to much!
-
You own those coattails and you decide who gets to hang onto them and who doesn’t!
