As her family member, you should consider telling her parents to not permit anymore interviews. If she’s lying or in shock - it’s done now. Prevent future interviews, although the conspiracy people will now thrive off of her interview.

Was this person’s claims backed up by any other people? Any corroborating witnesses? Any other interviews? This doesn’t seem like very good reporting. you should be concerned about your reporter propagating misleading information.
