Now that Katie Hopkins can’t read Twitter, I can tell you that on Monday I made her fly to Prague to pick up a completely fake award. Video up shortly.

10 year old Huw believes his antipsychotic drugs help him with his daily struggles and life 🤔. At least showed it for what it is, without directly saying what it is. Loving these documentaries from the archives

Never have I ever seen a doctor (so-called Neurologist) speak publicly like this towards someone who is sick. Disgusting! In fact check out his whole attitude towards and his ignorance. Truly feel sorry for his patients, but alas unable to deal with further as in the US.

I hesitate to jump in here but in the FND/NEAD/TBI world there are a lot of edge cases. I’ve seen many patients without trauma develop these symptoms. Strikes me that some people are constitutionally vulnerable to developing them. Will leave to

People diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorders have for so long been made to think their disabling neurological symptoms are all in the head or fake. This has been proven wrong, yet now they are being put in a position of having to face this ⬇️

People are more than the things they do. We have to allow people to change. And they can’t do that if we are determined to see them as no more than their worst deed. People become better. You don’t have to forgive bad actions, to appreciate people are bigger than those actions.

Good news for ME/CFS though, but they shouldn’t have been put in the position of having to fight for exclusion in the first place.

Bodily distress disorder is clearly the new pretty name for health anxiety. Don’t beat around the bush, say it as it is. We’re not stupid

Something not incl. is people are offered a month’s payment lump sum (which obviously they’ll need) to cover the 5wks. However you have to pay it back over the year, which can be a hefty expense. So basically the are making money from this 5wk wait because never reimbursed.

2/2 ... The main reason for the failure of such explanations is that they take a risk factor for the development of FND (adverse life events) and turn it into the cause of the problem."

1/2 " is often explained to patients as a ‘psychological reaction’ or as ‘symptoms due to stress’. These explanations usually fail and result in patients feeling alienated, stigmatised and not-believed...

FND is not a behavioural disorder. FND is a serious and genuine illness causing disabling neurological symptoms. It is not the fault of the individual, the person is not 'maladaptive', the person is ill.

Welcomed the opportunity to feed back to a CCG yesterday on the necessity of having a clear & substantial care pathway for those with suspected Functional Neurological Disorders in the area. Small steps can lead to strides when approach can be seen as financially beneficial
