And then in 1996 Clinton signed the Telecommunications Act which essentially allowed, like, 2 mega corporations to own all media ... and here we are

as someone who has watched a lot of Bernie videos for work, I can tell you I'm well aware of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.

Honest question - between then and now, what environmental legislation did Bernie sponsor, and did he manage to pass any? If not, what amendments on the subject (if any) did he manage to pass?
-
One example from https://www.alternet.org/2015/10/bernie-gets-it-done-sanders-record-pushing-through-major-reforms-will-surprise-you/ … "Greening the U.S. Government (June 2007): A Sanders amendment made a change to the law so at least 30 percent of the hot water demand in newer federal buildings is provided through solar water heaters."
-
Thank you!
-
To be fair, how many senators or congressmen in the past 30 years were interested in climate change? You need a majority in both houses plus a prez signature. He did the heavy lifting of continuously trying to get people to care while we were happily married to the oil companies.
-
How did that prevent him from introducing legislation?
-
He introduced tons of legislation. It is extremely hard to pass things though when all he gets is a single vote and Congress is bought off by the fossil fuel industry.
-
On the environment? Like what? One other person helpfully provided an example. Can you do the same?
-
Here's a list of bills he introduced related to the environment https://www.congress.gov/member/bernard-sanders/S000033?q=%7B%22sponsorship%22%3A%22sponsored%22%2C%22subject%22%3A%22Environmental+Protection%22%7D … and bills on the topic of energy are also related https://www.congress.gov/member/bernard-sanders/S000033?q=%7B%22sponsorship%22%3A%22sponsored%22%2C%22subject%22%3A%22Energy%22%7D … . Amendments are not included here, just bills, so the lists are definitely not exhaustive.

He has a long list of accomplishments actually: https://www.alternet.org/2015/10/bernie-gets-it-done-sanders-record-pushing-through-major-reforms-will-surprise-you/ … And then more recently he pressured Amazon, Disney to raise their minimum wage, got 16 cosponsors for his M4A bill and passed his Yemen war powers resolution in the Senate.
-
He wrote a few amendments, wow what an accomplishment

-
He didn't just write them, he actually passed quite a lot of them, that's why he's called the Amendment King.
-
Wow I’m underwhelmed
-
Fun fact: Passing legislation is difficult when all the Republicans disagree with you and a significant percentage of the Democrats vote against you
