We will do everything we can for our health workers. We can all help by saving masks for them, so they can stay healthy and treat more patients. Masks are not recommended for healthy people to prevent infection, but they are so important for our health care workers to have.

We are recommending steps to limit the spread of this illness, similar to what we do to limit the spread of the flu: - Stay home when sick - Practice excellent personal hygiene habits, including handwashing

      - To increase your chances of staying healthy, avoid crowded settings if possible, especially if you are over 60, or have other chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, or a weakened immune system.

      - Do not go to the emergency room unless essential. Emergency rooms need to be able to serve those with the most critical needs. If you have symptoms like cough, fever, or other respiratory problems, contact your regular doctor first.

      - At this time, we are not recommending widespread school closures or cancellation of activities at schools. If there is a positive case at a school, we will be working provide guidance.

Not to be an ass, but the stats would suggest that school age kids are asymptotic carriers, and the likelihood of displaying serve clinical symptoms is extremely low! Local leaders should take notice of this

Totally agree with this. When there are symptoms shown with kids, the whole city already in big danger. Public health officials should seriously take a look at the age distribution on the affected/confirmed cases in Wuhan.

They will end up closed. My hunch is that they will let schools stay open through Wednesday so that the SAT on Wednesday at public schools is not disrupted. I could absolutely be wrong, but I expect closures to happen Thursday or Friday.

Time to have a 30 day closure of public schools in the state. Then relook at the situation. Make it up during the summer. not that hard to do.
