As VFX become increasingly essential to every film production, the expectations become more unrealistic, the exploitation becomes even more evident, and it's about time VFX artists unionize. If we can't learn to make good films w/o exploitation, we need to build another system.

What have I learned from this? The perception that all A24 films are long, pendantic, slow, pensive, graphic, moody, art-house films is slightly true. For like, 80% of these movies.

I have watched all available A24 films and this is my (initial) tier list. It's a mix of what I believe are the good movies and how much I liked them. (Hereditary and Midsommar didn't do a lot for me)

Attention, artists! We want your creepiest, scariest, most creative Krusty the Clown fan art. Send it in for a chance to have your artwork displayed in the end credits of a terrifying Simpsons Halloween episode airing Sunday, October 23 on @FOXTV.

I don't love Halloween H20; I think it's mostly mediocre and then gets fun in the last 20 minutes. But this simple little scene showing Laurie Strode living with her trauma is so much more real and sympathetic than any of the over the top "TRAUMA!!" nonsense in these new movies.

Of course, the most important scene from the leaked Popeye storyboards.

I watched the leaked Popeye (2013) storyboards and it's still a lot of fun to watch despite not being finished. And I think it's fair to say Bluto is definitely the MVP here. Here's my favourite scene with him.
