    The attack on congregants at the Dar Al-Tawheed Islamic Centre is incredibly disturbing. I strongly condemn this violence – which has no place in Canada – and I’m keeping the community in my thoughts today. I also want to applaud the courage of those who were there this morning.

    Ukrainian workers, students, and visitors already in Canada can apply to extend their visitor status or work permit for up to three years – or apply for a new work or study permit. All of the normal fees for these applications and extensions will be waived.

    Update: In response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, we’ve launched a temporary residence pathway for Ukrainians who are seeking safe haven here – and applications are now open. Through this program, Ukrainians can stay in Canada as temporary residents for up to three years.

    Les travailleurs, étudiants et visiteurs ukrainiens déjà au Canada peuvent demander la prolongation de leur statut de visiteur ou permis de travail pour un maximum de 3 ans ou demander un nouveau permis de travail/d’études. Les frais habituels liés à ces demandes seront annulés.

    En réponse à l’invasion de l’Ukraine par la Russie, on a lancé un programme de résidence temporaire pour les Ukrainiens, et les demandes sont maintenant acceptées. Ce programme permet aux Ukrainiens de rester au Canada en tant que résidents temporaires pour un maximum de 3 ans.
