Either we all have human rights, or none of us do. There isn't a middle ground on that, actually.

Tweets like this are why became necessary. People ignorant of the harm caused by disparities in healthcare, diagnosis, education, a those clueless about how eugenics and ableism are used to oppress POC. Being autistic isn't lived in a vacuum. SMH

I can't square the shitshow that's unfolding with the with the unbelievably on-point work by campaign organizers, volunteers, and policy people to get to this point. It's unreal.

Joe Biden is the only presidential candidate who was in Congress when the Americans with Disabilities Act passed (he voted for it). But as Buttigieg, Sanders and Warren all release comprehensive plans, Biden has no disability policy, writes.

THREAD: for the first time ever, a mosque is hosting a presidential caucus in Iowa. This is historic.

On the day of the Iowa caucus, I was honored to moderate a panel on an issue that I hope whoever wins the Presidency takes seriously: reducing gun violence and busting myths related to gun violence and psychiatric disabilities. Watch the recording here:

Caucuses are exclusionary. We should be trying to encourage, not burden, voter participation.

Caucuses are bad but it’s real fun to watch in real-time how voters veer between candidates — realignment is rarely on straightforward ideological lines and more often is just unexpected or inexplicable.

This is the satellite caucus organized! I'm excited disabled voters are getting so much attention in 2020. We matter.

This is real. This is a real-life post by an anti-abortion activist. You can’t make this shit up.

This is a big deal. SDM is seen as an alternative for legal guardianship. The fact states as diverse as Texas and Massachusetts are trying it is a big deal.

One of the things that most impressed me about ' disability plan was specific provisions advocating for supported-decisionmaking. There are alternatives to guardianship, and the fight for those alternatives is cutting edge civil rights work.
