Either we all have human rights, or none of us do. There isn't a middle ground on that, actually.

I *enjoy* snuggling my cats. Sitting in soft grass. Reading a good book. Seeing my friends. A gentle morning with . I do NOT enjoy mass death and mass disabling events. How this is even something that gets lobbed at disabled people, I truly don’t understand.

We also know that ending a pandemic doesn’t mean shrugging your shoulders, deciding it’s over, and going back to what your life was like pre-pandemic. Because thousands of Americans are still getting sick and dying. And BILLIONS of people are still unvaccinated across the world.

Re: we “enjoy COVID”, something lobbed at disability advocates Every disabled person I know has lost a loved one, gotten much sicker themselves, or had a dear one get long COVID, or a combo of those happen in these 2 years. We want it to end more than you can possibly imagine.

You can use our virtual hill guide to meet with your Senators’ staff and urge your Senators to invest in critical funding for disabled people across the country. Be sure to share how HCBS helps you, your family, and your state.

Dear autism researchers: It would be great if you'd shift your focus from drugs for “treating” autism to drugs that can help autistic people with anxiety & pain, especially as autistics tend to have atypical/paradoxical reactions to drugs like stimulants/sedatives. cc: .

The numbers may seem low compared with the Omicron peak, but “we’re essentially back at levels of case rates back to the Delta wave... This would have been a very significant wave already by last year’s standards.”

Dear Teachers, The Christian holiday of Easter is approaching. Since it always falls on First Day and sometimes falls during Pesach Break, as it does this year, you may not be aware that our Christian students are celebrating this Christian holiday. 1/27

the problem with denying kids the ability to transition isn't that they'll end up looking like me one day. the problem with denying kids the ability to transition is that years of disdain, neglect, and denial grind down your damn soul. i don't want trans kids to deal with that.

For Democrats to take a victory lap on COVID, they have to have actually won something. There are nearly a million Americans dead, at least 1.2 million more adults in this country are disabled because of COVID, and there’s not even funding to keep providing free tests and vaxx.

My hot take on sensitivity reads is that it's an actual skill and ppl who hire a random member of X minority tend to be doing it as an arse-covering measure, because just having lived experience isn't enough. You also need someone who is a professional in doing this kind of thing

In Oklahoma, if a 13 year old girl is sexually abused and becomes pregnant, her abuser could spend as little as one year in jail & pay as little as a $500 fine. But the doctor who helps her terminate her traumatic pregnancy can now face 10 YEARS in prison & a $100,000 fine.
