  4. Flake (or someone) should ask Kavanaugh: Now that the man who nominated you is an unindicted co-conspirator have you thought about withdrawing from the nomination? Do you feel as though Trump's predicament stains your nomination?

  5. And a good follow-up by Flake and Kavanaugh won't respond. It's an essential question, and he should be required to respond to it, because it goes both to why Trump picked him and how he'll handle inevitable clash between Trump and Mueller.

  12. Sasse wants dumbed-down version of American government and the separation of powers. An opportunity for Kavanaugh to kill time by uttering one empty phrase after another about limits on president power and judicial independence and legislative oversight.

    Let's bottom line this: Kavanaugh is being evasive about Morrison. But not evasive enough. He doesn't like it. And that is really meaningful for the Mueller investigation.
