This is what Justin Trudeau doesn’t want you to know. Carbon taxes don’t work! Just ask BC. Highest carbon tax in Canada and emissions have gone up five of last six years.https://twitter.com/kris_sims/status/1080929431043026945 …

Emissions of CO2 are going up in British Columbia even though we have the highest carbon tax in all of Canada. BC government stats posted online before Christmas show a rising trend. #CarbonTax https://www.taxpayer.com/news-releases/b.c.-emissions-going-up-despite-canada-s-highest-carbon-tax … pic.twitter.com/Ks5Oc5NDRx

This is also the fact that @cathmckenna has not come to realized or accepted. A #carbontax does not change habits or have any impact on reducing emissions or improving the environment. Carbon tax is a revenue policy; not a environmental policy.

Agreed. And taxes need to be fair & reasonable wth countries living within their means not creating new taxes to cover wasteful tax spending & justifying them with false & unlikely results. Gov should be accountable wth tax spending & citizens should see real measurable returns.

How are income taxes any more fair and reasonably than carbon taxes? How are they better for the economy?

In fact, they are quite a bit worse, aren't they.. So why don't we direct this same passion to reducing income taxes instead?

So if there is enough tax revenue - as per your suggestion (which I agree with) - we should manage within our means. Not add new taxes for as a solution for every problem or concern. No issue in true offset. But never has it truly happened in Canadian history.

It happened in BC, though. It can work.

How is it working? BC has the highest taxes & highest costs of living in Can. Affordability of housing & living for many is a major issue. Carbon emissions in BC are UP in the last 4 out of 5 years. ?🤔?(oh & we don’t have UBER😏) 😉

Does it have the highest taxes? Last I checked it was tied for lowest income taxes in the most common brackets. The #carbontax enables that. BC's economy is doing well as a result.
