I keep seeing people in the comments of my previews that keep confusing them with reviews. So just to be clear: Preview: Early look at a small chunk of an unreleased game Review: Extensive look at a full game as its expected to be released to consumers.

It blows my mind how often I see a comment blasting me for only playing a few hours of a game in a preview, thinking I'm reviewing the game. It admittedly, doesn't happen THAT often, but way more frequently than I'd expect for what something that I'd consider to be common sense.

Tbf, there were a couple of time the site did 'review in progress' based on a demo, ahead of the game's release. I get seo and stuff, but it felt needlessly convoluted

That’s a little different than what I’m talking about, but I hear you. I don’t like reviewing early access games myself and have turned down a few in my time, though I understand the rationale behind them.

Yeah, I figured the IGN audience is fluent enough in coverage vocabulary to know these terms. Weird
Do you prefer to review games you've previewed before, or go into them as fresh as possible?1 réponse 0 Retweet 0 j'aime
Generally I prefer to go in fresh. Sometimes though, like in the case of Nier Replicant, the preview was so extensive that it felt like it wouldn't make sense for me not to do the review.
