Phew that’s finally credits on Yakuza Like a Dragon! Great game that would have been my favorite story of the year if not for Cyberpunk. It’s a very flawed game, but the areas in which it shines make the parts where it’s weak worth pushing through.
Yeah, I think combat has always been a weak point of the series, to be honest. It always succeeds at being fun to watch, but as something that you have to play and engage with for as long as these games are, it's pretty lacking.

And with a few tweaks and additions, this could actually turn into a really fun and engaging JRPG series. I really liked a lot of the new ideas like the sujidex and random conversations popping up if you walk by something interesting. The engine needs help though. Very outdated

The combat was alright in Yakuza 0 and 5, but since the switch to the PS4 engine it's been very basic and not fluid at all. Making it turn based alleviates some of those issues since fluidity isn't so important anymore. Hope they take it into a strong direction.
