I feel like I repeat this a lot, but so many people still get don't seem to get that on our (and I imagine most) review scales, games don't start at a 10 and get points deducted based on how many negative things are said. There's no math equation that decides the score of a game.

If I give a game an 8, it's because when using a single word to describe the quality of that game to someone, the word that most closely represents how I feel about it is "Great". It's really as simple as that. I think Ghostrunner is great, so I gave it an 8.

One of the things that's lost in the removal of decimals is the degree of how great a game is. In Ghostrunner's case, this would definitely be a high 8, which is why it might sound like the score should be a 9. But it all goes back to that one word description. We dont round up.
