Ratchet and Clank 2016 is a reimagining, not a remake, its literally based on tie in movie that came out on the same year, not original PS2 title. It doesn’t even all the levels from original and completely different weapon roster

I don't quite agree. I think a reimagining means you're taking the characters and world in a completely new direction. A new beginning that's wholly separate from what came before. Prince of Persia 2008, for instance, is an example of a reimagining, not a remake.

But by that definition. I can argue that Ratchet and Clank 2016 ain’t remake either. It definitely uses base of original but it also does change direction with events, characters, and whole story in general. Thats even why couldn’t bring back all levels from original PS2 title

It's borderline, but I think it's closer to a remake due to - Same characters - Largely the same narrative arc with Quark, Chairman Drek, and the coming together of Ratchet and Clank - Mostly the same combat that's informed by more the more modern sequels

And by same characters I mean, that the Ratchet is the same Ratchet in both the PS2 and PS4 version, Clank's the same, Quarks the same, etc. These characters aren't being reinvented or reimagined. Obviously, the cast of characters is a bit different.
