I've started and put down Ori and the Blind Forest like 3 times at this point. I finally think I'm going to finish it this time, but fuck man, I don't know I've ever played a game that's simultaneously as wonderful and frustrating as this one.

I actually really like the flow of its platforming as well. Ori feels so mobile and agile, and it leads to some really great fast paced platforming moments. But the problem is it's so bad at visual language, half the time I die I don't know what it was from until I do it again.

That, and I find most metroidvanias that don't consistently reward exploration to be really tedious to get through. Probably I love Bloodstained so much as your character near endgame has so many abilities compared to midgame and early game builds.

Agreed. Games like this need more than sporadic health/energy upgrades and bundles of EXP to reward exploration.
