There's a lot of really awful stories coming to light about some things that happened at Evo, so I want to share a real short and positive one.

Before my match with
@Tasty_Steve, we chatted a bit before going on stage. I was probably visibly nervous, and he said something along the lines of "don't worry, I don't play a lot of MK11." I said "haha, I do play a lot, but this is my first evo."1 réponse 0 Retweet 10 j'aimeAfficher cette discussion -
He immediately extended his hand, smiled and said, "Well welcome to Evo." I can't even begin to describe how much that simple gesture meant to me. But let's try anyway!

As a person who makes regular fighting game content on IGN, and has to deal with a TORRENT of comments like "this is the best IGN can do?" and "why not get someone who knows how to play," having that simple moment of welcoming from a prominent FGC figure meant the world.

Anyway, fighting games are awesome, and it was nice getting to feel like a welcome part of the FGC last weekend.
