3. When someone says "Hey we're looking for news freelancers," jump on that shit so hard. But don't let your excitement get in the way of doing _____exactly _____ what the freelance application asks you to do

4. Repeat this a whole shit-ton until you get added on to a site as a freelancer. 5. Any time anyone at the site asks if you can do something, say "yes, I can do that." When you get edits from someone working at the site say "sure, I will change that right up."

5a. Make sure you're getting paid, don't be afraid to ask about money you're owed. 6. Do this for a while and get frustrated and decide to give up on it more than once. 7. Eventually you'll see progress

8. It might take a really long time. News freelance is a great way to start off.

Oh I forgot, your location is going to make a big difference. It took me a very long time because I'm stuck where I am and there weren't any remote opportunities. There still aren't many. If you can be in the Bay Area, it will be easier to move into full-time.
