For years has refused to even consider raising taxes on billionaires & ultra-millionaires, with lower income New Yorkers paying the price. Now, in an economic crisis devastating people in need, he'd still rather cut crucial services than raise revenue. Unacceptable.

  9. As I truly tried to allow my faith to guide my responses to the Trump diagnosis, I knew one thing... .... leaving the hospital (with the best care unavailable to most) after just a few days & down playing the seriousness was even more dangerous to us all

The back and forth between the Mayor & Governor on the scope and method of enforcement for additional restrictions in specific zip codes as cases rise is an echo of what we saw in mid-March, when delays & power plays led to lives lost. Statement:

  11. As the city’s ombudsman and top Black elected, second in line to the Mayor, who has put out plans to address the crisis involving a school system which is 80% Black and Brown— I wondered the same. For him to again bring together an all-white male team is a failure of leadership.

Our Public Advocate & my friend has shown what true leadership looks like at a time it is in such short supply. NYC needs his strategic brain, big heart & powerful voice fighting for those who need it most. Please join me in supporting Jumaane’s re-election:
