This is the last tweet from Marc Bernier, right wing talk show host and big anti-vax guy, anti-mask guy. His radio station just announced he died of COVID. Again and again.

"Only 11% of these [emergency rental assistance] funds have gotten distributed, 89% have not - states and localities need to get their act together... On top of that, I believe that Congress should act as soon as possible to extend an eviction moratorium."

Let me be clear: there's no scenario in which someone who looked like me, with my name, could get away with even six seconds of behavior like this at an airport, let alone sixty. Where on earth are the police? Security?

.: When Republicans had power, they passed a tax cut for the rich. When we got power, we passed a tax bill that benefits the middle and working class. : We’ve seen a pattern: Under Republicans, our economy tanks. Then Democrats come and clean it up.

Congress must immediately step in and do everything possible to keep people in their homes. Yesterday’s cruel ruling from the Supreme Court is a matter of life and death for millions.

Tomorrow on : meet the Texas Dr. who, along with nurses, tried for 7hrs to find an ICU bed + Dr. who could perform a life saving procedure on a U.S. army vet. By the time it was found it was too late. This is how the Covid crisis is affecting the non Covid, too.

A disappointing decision. States should immediately institute or extend their own moratoriums to ensure millions aren’t kicked out of their homes. States must also work overtime to distribute rental assistance to landlords and renters.

This shocking decision by SCOTUS forces the Biden administration to reinstate an inhumane, cruel policy concocted by Donald Trump and Stephen Miller – a white nationalist.  What’s next? Litigating the reinstatement of the immoral family separation policy?

Republican Texas House Speaker thinks it’s uncivil to talk about racism. What’s uncivil is pretending it doesn’t exist.

The Supreme Court's decision on Trump's Remain in Mexico policy is nonsensical. I saw firsthand the horrific consequences of this policy along our border. We must explore all legal avenues to ensure it is not reinstated.

Greg Abbott doesn’t like heavy handed government mandates or interference with the free market unless deliberately designed to exacerbate the spread of a deadly disease that has killed tens of thousands of Texans and overwhelmed the state’s health care infrastructure

Make no mistake: this isn’t about Texans’ “freedom.” This is about Abbott playing political games with a deadly virus to to placate his extreme right-wing base. For your sake and your neighbors, please get vaccinated.

Texas is changing. It’s getting younger, more diverse, and more at-odds with the extreme right-wing politics of today’s Republican leaders. If Democrats organize and invest in Texas we can chart a new course for this state.

States still aren’t getting rental assistance into the hands of needy Americans quickly enough. Way too slow. Congress and the White House must boost oversight. Localities should look at all options to ensure renters and landlords avail themselves of funding prior to eviction.
