I found it interesting that Clarence Thomas, who is not known as a liberal at all, was the sole jurist that wanted a qualified immunity case.

Don’t you realize that the gay right rule was to placate folks for the police protection rule. That was court politics .

That’s my suspicion as well. Everyone is waiting for the other shoe to drop but it already did, when SCOTUS punted those qualified immunity cases.
