What policy solutions would you propose? Here is one: a national registry for police shootings. It baffles me that we don’t track shootings and murders by police on a national scale. We need data so we can better understand the problem and create a culture of accountability.
Calls for justice are good and necessary, but what I’d rather hear right now from elected officials are calls for specific policy change. Even better—action to change it.

#BanWarriorPolicing and any training that teaches fear-based, shoot-first tactics. We must also address the police unions that make it near impossible to fire bad cops, and the collusion that makes it near impossible for prosecutors to try cops. -
It’s very telling that decades of GOP union-busting has carefully avoided breaking the power of police unions.

Agreed! For example, body cameras required on police AT ALL TIMES, they do not have discretion to turn them on or off, and they are considered public records that will immediately be released (un-redacted) in cases of police brutality against citizens.
