The total money given out to companies on these bills so far is enough to have given every American over 20,000 dollars a piece so far. Also, why hasn't a rent/mortgage moratorium happened? Just add the payments to the back of the leases/loans, right?
When this crisis is over, some will call for cuts to the social safety net in the name of austerity. But austerity won’t get Americans back up on their feet. We must fight for what will create broader prosperity—housing, health care, food assistance. There’s no going back.

I feel like every American having 10 months of 2000 dollars per month would have done much better at keeping an economy moving than giving a bunch of people who already have money more or it, right?

I agree. There should be some sort of hazard pay remuneration. It could be loan forgiveness, a bonus, free college for you or your kids, something, but you all deserve more than just applause!
