I really hope I don't have to leave astronomy before this baby gets to work.

We did partial clouds in transits here : Caldas et al. looked at the temperature variations *across* the transit line of sight: We are working on a paper by pluriel et al. showing that it gets real bad for UHJs !

Had a power surge at the telescope I'm responsible for this week. Three separate pump issues and one software issue came up. Lost one night, but now all is fixed. Is this the kind of rush engineers feel everytime they fix something? Because I like it

*Rant alert* I just sat down with my new postdoc, going through the approach we’re gonna use. Many questions about methods & many follow ups querying why we did things this way, rather than this other way. Good insightful questions, happy to hear ‘em 1/5 Ping

This morning, at 07:38 CET, one of the major moments of truth arrived for , when the telescope baffle cover was finally opened ✅ This mission-critical operation allowed the instrument to see the sky for the first time 👍 Details 👉

Hey academic twitter: Do you think the ability to understand instructions in English is a core qualification for a PhD position? Bcs I'm running in some communication issues with a fellow PhD student and it's annoying and detrimental to the work

The solar system does need a super-Earth. Or was it a mini-Neptune?

Injustice under the pretext of justice is the worst kind of injustice. Colonizing the sky and saying it's for the good of colonized humanity is quintessential predation.

I've read that if we're against , we're bad people because it aims at giving an Internet access to populations in Africa which don't have any access. Rumors say that the subscription will cost 80$ a month. I was nice and considered a price of 60$. And I made this graph.

Just saw starlink train 2 (according to ) pass through. Directly in line of sight of my observations with the Euler telescope in Chile. Astronomy is dead.
