It's 90% of all children (<15) live in low & middle income countries. Everyday stressors (eg. food scarcity & income shocks) are common and strong determinants of mental health disorders. Let's focus our attention to an important, neglected problem.

Our new commentary: Changes that happen during adolescence may impact whether or not a cash transfer programme is effective. We discuss the evidence for this claim and suggest some solutions that take into account these developmental factors.

We just published a commentary in . To read my own publication I have to pay $30 for 24h access. We tried accessing it via Wits University, Oxford, Cambridge, and UCL without success. If someone has access to it I'd be grateful if you could share it with me.

Simple message of "plastic = bad" that can lead to complete plastic bans has potential to backfire & create larger env impacts. Because: – food packaging is important in preventing food waste – plastic alternatives can have larger environmental impacts.

An excellent and much-needed tool for researchers with an interest in longitudinal mental health data, and hopefully will provide fertile ground for lots of new research projects. Hats off to all involved in delivering this!

Moving from Fast Science to Slow Science: 1) Think in longer timescales and survey larger horizons 2) Talk to young researchers about your own regrets 3) Assess quality rather than quantity 4) Acknowledge teamwork -> as in film credits! 5) Restrict output (grants & papers)

Patient and public involvement in health research in low and middle-income countries: woefully lacking is my take on results from this systematic review. and I think this is something we can tackle together

New preprint! Adolescence is a period of heightened risk taking, but these are health/legal risks (e.g. smoking, driving too fast). & proposed that when it comes to *social* risks, adolescents might actually be quite risk averse /1
