Team Lopez: Julia has lobbied Ministers for increased funding for Havering Council to address budgetary pressures which the Council state made increased parking charges necessary. Ministers have now advised that the Council’s Core Spending Power has increased by £9.6m.
With such an increase in the Council’s finances confirmed, Julia has again contacted the Leader to request that the parking charges affecting only parts of her constituency, be subject to full review ahead of the Council budget. Julia, the Council needs to make savings of £14 million next year. When we talk about Core funding this is based on both an increase in gov funding but also an assumption that we would put C-tax up by the max.1/2

Plus any money allocated on town planning to be spent on the things we need... library resources, improving the over all look of the high street, investment in public areas, schools and local businesses! We ask you to be more transparent about what’s going on -and be democratic!
When set aside with social services costs - which next year increase by £7m - it's not quite as rosy as it seems. We will respond to your letter directly to give you a full picture of the challenges faced. 2/2
