This is a major breakthrough for our local health & social care system.
Once delivered the St George’s Health & Well-being Hub will:
reduce pressure on Queen’s
integrate council & NHS services
provide more services in community
improve access to GPs & mental health care
This project had been stalled by a bureaucratic logjam for far too long while pressure built up on our GPs, hospital & social services. We just missed out on last capital funding round so I‘ve been meeting ministers & bringing different parts of NHS & council together to find..
..another way to get project off ground or get us to top of list for any new capital. Thankfully PM bought the case that rapid growth of outer boroughs must be matched by proper infrastructure. St George’s finally gives us the foundation better to integrate health & social care!
