I'm a Brit who lives in Canada should I be allowed to vote in the next Brexit referendum?

-
Oh, so you think there'll be another Brexit referendum?

-
Eyyyyyy, nearly got you! For all the things I disagree with you over Julia I can do nothing but respect the way you go about conveying yourself.
-
That puts you in a club of your own...
-
Perhaps I'll get shirts printed, "Decent to all humans, no matter what." I had assumed this was the norm.

The right to vote expires after 18 months actually, but Irish young people are significantly more likely to live and work abroad for periods of time and then return, than those in the UK. Happy to clarify these cultural differences if you’re unsure.
-
It does, but there are concerns even among the Repeal side that people who are living abroad for far longer who are NOT eligible are returning to vote.https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/abroad/the-vote-returning-emigrants-warned-of-18-month-rule-1.3505885%3fmode=amp …

Why shouldn’t you be allowed in a referendum even if you’ve been out of of country for more than 18 mths? Ireland’s procedures for enabling votes abroad is arachaic & if someone has a polling card and pays to fly home they’re exercising their democratic right. More power to them
-
Also, our country is just completely out of touch with this. I sincerely hope with the hype around diaspora and bring Irish people back to Ireland, this will be something that changes soon. Next on the list for all those who worked on

That’s a debate worth having. I expressed my personal opinion. I didn’t insist that you or anyone else had to agree with it.
-
Yes exactly, it really is! To be fair, as a public figure posting things like that on Twitter today, you invite someone to debate you on it. I’m glad you support
#repeal and hope we can move to votes for those abroad very soon. :)

You've got to wonder at the sort of person so determined to kill babies that they'll travel hundreds of miles to do it.
-
Hey, let me know the next time you’re pregnant and we’ll chat.
-
Straw man argument. Killing the innocent is wrong, no matter how inconvenient that innocent might be to you.
-
God/Mother Nature killed four of my innocent babies. Maybe you should have a go at them too.
-
Natural processes are not in any way comparable to deliberate acts by free human beings.

Not sure men should be voting on a female issue either.
-
I disgree. Men help to make babies. This is an issue for everyone.
-
Help?? I more than helped! Hours and HOURS of hard, sweaty, energy-sapping work.
