I am appalled by the racist abuse directed at @DavidLammy. But a few nasty racist idiots don’t undermine the fact that David has accused Oxford University of being racist without any basis in truth.https://twitter.com/bbcnews/status/999036624154562565 …

He is s racist himself though Julia. Maybe that's why he is short on sympathy.

I suppose I could have said Lagos, but as Bulawayo is in communist Mugabe's Zimbabwe, it seems somewhat more fitting.

Yes thats perfectly acceptable in 2018 UK We are supposed to be forever apologetic and ashamed for being white and for what our ancestors may/may not have done 100s of years ago

I can trace the male line of my family back to 1706. At that time, and for the next 200 years, they were in Lincolnshire and were mostly farm labourers. So it's safe to say none of my lot had slaves, so I've certainly got nothing to be ashamed of. or apologise for !!!!

I'll tell you what's pathetic, Telford and the like swept under the carpet in no time, why? The victims and the perpetrators are both the wrong colour/religion. Plenty are fighting their corner, he just makes it a race thing

Lammy provokes in order to get this abuse in order to play the victim card, which the MSM obligingly take up, raising his profile. Thoroughly dishonest and dishonourable politician skilled in dogwhistle politics.

Don't you really think that too many people are getting just a teeny bit 'overheated' with all these 'isms and 'phobias? Why not take a pace backwards, a deep breath and apply the law of good old fashioned common sense? Methinks the world might just be a slightly happier place.
