Some cold hard facts on this Oxbridge diversity nonsense. I know facts aren’t popular these days but hey ho... FactCheck: why do so few black students go to Oxbridge? https://www.channel4.com/news/factcheck/factcheck-why-do-so-few-black-students-go-to-oxbridge … via @FactCheck

Also, stats show that ethnic minority students are more likely to apply for hugely over-subscribed courses like medicine, law and PPE so are less likely to win places at Oxbridge colleges than those who apply for less popular subjects.

So facts are fine when they suit your opinion? Brexit facts from BoE governor can be ignored? It's difficult to take you seriously

BoE governor isn’t quoting brexit facts! He is extrapolating from an unknown ie a presumption of economic growth if we had voted remain against known economic growth in light of voting leave. The governor had been consistently wrong he is a flim flam man

David Lammy sees racism in absolutely everything. He is a one man crusade. As a result I usually ignore what he says. The Channel 4 fact check article you linked to is far more useful than a Lammy rant. Note how well Chinese students do.

Worth noting @DavidLammy cites Ivy Leagues approvingly. Actually, they admit huge nos of “legacy” candidates - the kids of rich alumnae. Then use their donations to fund bursaries for underprivileged kids. It’s a staggeringly corrupt system.

Lammy is a race hustler and poverty pimp. He's an archetypal low grade politician that needs to disappear from public life if the country is to succeed after we get our independence back.

With that said, when one looks at Oxford University, then looks at those who are running this country, as being representative of that education, some things are seriously overrated. If this collection of Wombats is supposed represent the best education can offer, shame on us.

Probably less white working class Northerners, Scots. Irish & Welsh get in than black applicants. Oxbridge students generally seem to be middle class rather than working class, regardless of colour. A strong regional accent is often a disadvantage too

We don’t put up with that nonsense in the US. Grades are inflated so students a) don’t fail, b) don’t have to take a standardized test, c) are remediate for reading etc. at Uni to the tune of 50%+. In golf it is called “kicking the ball in the fairway”. Fore!

When it comes to facts the right wing like to distort. A bit like a headline, which states, - Yogi Bear meets Alice in Wonderland for a Shindig at the New York Plaza. On first sight fictional, yet when one considers @realDonaldTrump and @theresa_may it takes on a form of reality.
