Julia did you see the channel 4 program "Manchester a year of hate crime" last night, can't believe they aired it on the anniversary eve of the Manchester bombing. The timing was so unbelievable insensitive.

And the dilution of the issue at hand - “all hatred must be condemned.” Shouldn’t we focus on the most dangerous hatred at the moment?

After the London Bridge attack (7 killed) Theresa May said ‘enough is enough’, that we would need to have ‘difficult conversations’ & that there shouldn’t be ‘separate, segregated communities’. I naively thought we would then have a big national debate leading to action. Nothing.
-
As Theresa proves constantly words are cheap ,action on any important issue non existent!

I agree, even to the point of feeling uneasy about the "together we are stronger" focus of commemorations. These young people are dead. Never coming back. So the key question surely is what killed them and how do we stop it from killing others?

Tbh. I think we have left this too late to do anything about it.

I have worked with a great many Muslim medics over the years, with absolutely no problems & they have been very professional and courteous towards patients, these bombers are extremists and their behaviour and crimes are not typical of most Muslims, we must respect that fact

-
Indeed. But we didn’t have the same phobia about naming the IRA or UDF after atrocities as we do the mentioning of Radical Islam.

Totally agree
