I love that so many of you think the solution to this is “candles”.https://twitter.com/juliahb1/status/997948916082634752 …

Saturday night out with hubby cut short by fuse box blowing at home. Failed to get it working remotely via lengthy phone convo with 11yr old & babysitter. Bloody thing still not working so at home & sitting in the dark. Leccy coming in the morning. Anyone got any bright ideas?

Its what we did during the power outages in the 1970s, we in fact all quite enjoyed evenings lit by candle light. It led to a spike in births !

Google emergency electricians. Stomach the fact this will cost you between £250 - £500. Remind yourself how much you believe in the free market and capitalism.

You could get an electrician out, but at this time it probably cheaper to buy some candles.

It may be a appliance that's always plugged in (kettle, micro etc) that's tripping leccy box, unplug as much as you can then try leccy box again

Very definitely, unplug everything, then reset the trips, one by one, starting with lights first. Then switch one thing on, after the other, if you switch something on, and it trips, that’s the faulty appliance (and it is likely to be an appliance).
