You remind me of my children when they were small, constantly wanting sweets in the supermarket and constantly whining - pack it in and move on now!!!

You are alone with your husband in the dark on Saturday night. The fact that you are asking others for ideas is in itself a little perplexing?

There is the small matter of two frightened 11 year olds and the not too distant prospect of tea and a hot shower in the morning

In some multi occupancy buildings there is a central fuse box that covers each flat There may be a trip fuse [circuit breaker] that's tripped cutting the power to just your flat. The flat will have its own distribution/fuse box.

Thanks / but already tried that

As a temporary measure so you have some electricity for lights etc do you have you a long enough electrical extension cable to ask a neighbour for access to a plug/socket so have some light and you're not using dangerous candles or torches Good luck

Switch all circuits and RCD(s) off at consumer unit. Then switch the RCD(s) on, then one circuit at a time unit you fine the one with the fault. Then leave that one off 'til you can get a sparky in.

Thank you. Tried but no power to anything at all.

Is there a Main distribution, along with a landlords supply, at the main entrance. There should be means of isolation for each flat there ? Possibly locked, maybe not.
