        Private railways too, but properly privatised as opposed to a semi, almost-but-not-quite system. Whatever happens ours are a mess. VTEC actually did very well under public ownership before it became VTEC and @richardbranson foolishly put his name to one of Stagecoach’s businesses

        10 years ago in Japan I had to catch a train to work each day. Worried that announcements etc were in Japanese I was worried that I'd catch the wrong train. I was told " You go to this platform, at 0737 a train will arrive, you get on it, you'll be on the correct train."

        They give you a little card if your train is late to give to your employer/school, so no one can just claim "oh my train was late". Not that it happens often 🤷‍♂️
