What about the people who have wooden cladding on their houses and period properties?

I thought the same. What's plain commonsense for the rest of us is a for these people a hugely complicated matter. Incomprehensible.

It is quite complicated technically re material specification etc. Much of the hysteria generated about this is and subsiquent comments do come from people who have zero knowledge of building/ building technology and practices. Emotion will not bring answers.

Reality. What about plastic? It burns so ban it....oh dear, there went all your electrical cables. What about wood? It burns so ban that as well. Oh dear, all your internal walls just disappeared. Do the research than decide.

BBC news claims the contrary: no ban. Add to that vague accusations of a culture of incompetence and the root cause is still not known.

It's complex - let's wait until the results of the enquiry are released as I think there's more to this then meets the eye...Basically I don't think it's as simple as the cladding, there are other failures all adding to the tragedy.

They’ll need several meeting and get everyone’s opinion then arrange a focus group to look at the opinions and then put it to a vote based on opinion before submitting a white paper to get comments and opinion. 🙄 #publicservices #CantMakedecision

If you ban it....you have to do something about it. If you consider banning it......you can wait until it is someone else's problem.

Is it the cladding is the problem though or the insulation under the cladding ?

Reports on the same cladding showed its use on high rise buildings should not be allowed due to the fire risk and how quickly the fire can spread as seen in the disastrous incident. Videos years before Grenfell showed the exact same type of fire using the same cladding
