        This is quite an old trick. It's to do with the top frequency you can hear. If you can hear higher than the average frequency (20mHz) you can hear Yanny, if your hearing tops out at 20 you hear Laurel. Women and Younger people are more likely to hear Yanny. Dogs would hear Yanny.
