I am fed up paying the 'thin tax' - I pay the same as total lard buckets to travel on aircraft, taxis, trains and buses. Clearly a 280 lb person costs more to move around than a 140 lb person, but we thinnies pay the same. Wrong, wrong, wrong fat people - pay your way!

Airlines take an average weight of passengers so doesn’t matter if your thin or fat you all weigh the same and so called fatties buy more food so they do pay more .

Surely it’s pure economics. Their clothes use more fabric = more cost. Simples
-
So let's charge smokers for the strain on the NHS then? Good idea?
-
Yes absolutely
-
Sorry, but I actually don't agree.
-
There’s a lot of information out there about what happens when you smoke. If you choose to smoke, you know exactly what will happen to your body. It is your responsibility. No one else’s.

There’s a lot of information out there about what happens when you over eat. If you choose to over eat, you know exactly what will happen to your body. It is your responsibility. No one else’s.

Indeed. That's accepted. The argument here is about the way in which you talk about the issue, i.e. don't fatshame and be nice.

Don’t forget ugly people too. Fat people can diet.

The difference between the two Julia is that the NHS link is providing information while your tweet is fatshaming. How about being kind for once?
-
Fat people need to be shamed. It’s a lifestyle choice for the vast majority and people like you are enabling them.
-
And everyone is paying for it, as the NHS is funded through general taxation.
-
Let's surround everybody with tasty, convenient high calorie food. Let's sell them all cars and put them all behind desks so they don't need to move around. Then we can shame all the one's that start getting fat.
-
Or you could, you know, use just a few brain cells to make some simple choices, such as walk or cycle sometimes instead of always using your car?

"Obesity is generally caused by eating too much and moving too little." from your link. Indeed. Cut down portion sizes, get off your backside and walk/cycle/run/swim. Stop the sedentary lifestyle. Guilty as charged but it ain't rocket science
