Question: will Keir be representing Britain’s interests or the EU’s interests? It’s hard to tell sometimes.https://twitter.com/keir_starmer/status/995746679654666240 …

Just arrived in Brussels for full day of Brexit discussions tomorrow with senior politicians across EU27. Much to discuss including importance of retaining benefits of single market & customs union.

I don’t claim to be representing anyone. You claimed Starmer was representing Remain voters. On what basis? He’s not in Govt and his own party manifesto in 2017 promised to deliver Brexit.

He is trying presumably to work out the best solution to the Brexit disaster. If it's such a great idea to leave the EU then you should be promoting another referendum on the final deal and the question will be settled? What are you and your followers afraid of?

Brexit disaster? There isn’t a disaster. The only disaster is Remainers trying to prevent it.

More to the point, why is someone from the opposition discussing our future? Or perhaps they are discussing how to help overthrow our democratically elected government.

Are you seriously suggesting that opposition politicians should not have discusions with politicians abroad with whom they might have to deal should they come to power? That would be a very odd approach to democratic politics.

No I'm not suggesting that the opposition should not talk to politicians abroad, I'm saying that they shouldn't try to undermine our democracy.

Having an opinion different from the government of the day and working for it is not undermining democracy: it IS democracy.

Expressing different opinions to the people we are negotiating with as a nation is stupid and not the ‘team game’; but then when we fail to get a good deal he can decry the Tories and forget his contribution.

On who’s authority is he doing this? His views are polar opposite of Government policy and referendum result. What a complete waste of time and money. I trust he’s funding the visit himself?

Oh, that's an easy one. You really have to ask the question why @MichelBarnier & the EU 27 are entertaining him, after all he's NOT the Government and is NOT negotiating Brexit!! #UtterDisgracepic.twitter.com/3O1QTLH6mH

Also, it would appear that someone not in the government appears to be conducting deals with other nations. This is a crime in most countries and could be seen as treason. Who gave him the authority to speak to ANYONE on behalf of the UK?
