Grammer schools are needed for gifted working class families. The rich and famous, also politicians children have either private education or have extra tuition at home. Labour mp Diane Abbott and many more voted against them while their kids went private.

Spot on. Grammar schools should be for ambitious working class/ middle class children who want to get on in life & whose parents can't afford £6k per term. There should be more grammar schools built for such children.

Including: Corbyn – grammar. Son grammar. McDonnell – grammar. Milne – son & daughter grammar. Abbott – grammar & son private. Trickett – grammar. Morris – grammar. Flynn – grammar. So, grammar school didn't help you lot to get on? For the many, not the few eh, Jezza?

The hard left hate social mobility, simply because it enables people to remove themselves from the pernicious influence of the marxist nutters. Ergo they have a dwindling clientele. Untill of course people earn enough money & move to islington.

Those in power don't want kids with academic prowess going to free grammar schools.... coming out and outshining them in their jobs, showing how inept they actually are. Keep the great unwashed where they belong
