You may have just raised my interest in the event. Admittedly it was 0 two minutes ago...

Disagree with you here Julia, when I voted leave that definitely included Eurovision. There's no hard Brexit without it.
-
Well said, get rid of that Graham Norton waste of space too. Miss Sir Terry Wogan so much, he actually WAS funny and didn't just think he was

If the UK don't get enough votes can we ask for a re-run. The Eastern European states don't know what they are voting for.
-
Just ask the Lords... they'll no doubt argue it

You won't loose me, at least 2 of us in the UK are watching.

My secret pleasure

-
There's 3 of us then, I wish I could afford tickets. I've been watching it every year since I was 3 lol.
-
I really enjoy it but I don't know why lolol its just so watchable. A wee bit like "the jungle" you know you you shouldn't but you just can't help yourself

It’s more fixed than an electoral vote in Tower Hamlets

Enjoy, and remember to blame Brexit when we loose. This follower will be pulling his teeth out with blunt pliers rather than watching the song contest!!!

This is the only part of Europe that is expanding - reached Australia !!!!!
-
EuroVision is a TV corporation brand, not a geographical event. Many people do not seem to have noticed there have been non-European countries taking part for many many years already.
-
Great - calling it EuroVision has certainly made that very clear - kinda strange that the Big Five countries who pay the large share of costs are France, Germany, Italy, Spain & U.K. - are all European countries. Damn that EuroVision brand or is this a con !
-
They just happen to be the biggest customers. Ever noticed that Turkey and Israel are there each year? Those are two off the top of my head.

-
History - seems like a very European idea to me - “It has been held, primarily, among the member countries of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) since 1956. The competition was based upon the existing Sanremo Music Festival held in Italy since 1951.”
-
That's nearly a straight copy from Wiki. Read on and you'll see a map showing their customers which covered half the globe. America perhaps have not realised they too are eligible to take part in the tournament

-
It was born a European event - changing the rules does not negate the reasons for starting it. Like I stated at the beginning just another EU type growth to become a bigger event - sounds very much like the global EU if you think about it.
-
Yup, started off innocent enough, then turned into a monster (Like the EU). I agree, let's have a referendum on leaving Eurovision too.
