I get really fed up about people alleging privilege re Oxbridge entrance. I went as first member of my family to attend any university, on full grant due to low family income. They should be celebrating fact those who aren’t privileged do get in... & build on that.

My daughter recently got A grades Maths, Physics and A* Art, she point blank refused to apply to Oxbridge or Imperial.

Oh I have no doubt she would have had a good chance to get in but I still suspect it wouldn’t have been an enjoyable experience as she’s northern and working class.
