I agree with you, most of the people I know who went there are clever but there's a world of difference between clever and well educated. Money and privilidge can buy you "Well educated" but all the money in the world can't buy you "Clever".

The problem is that the state system is woeful at preparing working class kids for elite universities. You could argue that this is the real benefit of a private secondary education!

So you have contradicted your own point that it’s because you were clever that you were there. By your own admission children at *least* as bright as yourself should have been there. Yet they’re not. You were privileged - and benefit in future due to the greater opportunities
