her argument is contradictory...feminism is the reason men no longer act chivalrous and leave women to fight their own battles. You can't have it both ways.

Such a shame this action was attributed to
#Feminism ... This was a disgusting Human Being with#MentalHealth problems. Probably WHY no-one interferred as THEY know 'they' would be the ones ARRESTED! in this No-Justice#Society the#UK has Spawned....... -
Much like the poor Chap
#arrested for protecting his home, himself and his elderly wife the other day ..... -
That has been discussed a quite a lot in the last few days. Generally it seems the correct procedure is to consider the legal implications of your actions before you do anything. Briefly, ask the burglar or other perp to hang on while you consult a lawyer.

The reason men don't stand up for women 1,is you don't know if your doing right for doing wrong, 2,When real men get involved and sort this shit out properly they're the ones that get arrested
@TuffsLiam can vouch for this. 3, Feminist bollox -
“Real” men? Seriously?
-
Yep and you are part of the problem.

Happy to be if it means I’m deconstructing traditional understandings of masculinity.

So you wouldn't step in then?

@harriet1marsden A key danger with a man intervening is that it would rapidly escalate things to violence. I imagine the blokes there were keeping a close eye on proceedings, ready to intervene if required but not wanting to escalate unless truly necessary. -
There is something in what you say. An old school pub landlord of my acquaintance would always send his wife to sort out any trouble in the bar at first, and usually it would work. When the blokes pile init would invariably be an invitation to a brawl.

Quite frankly, it would've been considered 'benevolent sexism'.https://www.bustle.com/articles/131418-7-examples-of-benevolent-sexism-that-are-just-as-harmful-as-hostile-sexism …

Exactly.... they’ll be demanding seats on the life boat next...

Agreed. But the police would then arrest the person DEFENDING the victim (if the police ever arrived). If we felt the police would take the side of the victim, people would feel they could take action to right a wrong.
