In my experience it is single parenthood which impoverishes people in work - and demands from debt or costs associated with family breakdown. It is not that unusual, I’m afraid.
-
A close family member of mine is a nurse and a single mum and she doesn’t have any trouble paying her bills.
-
Some of my best friends are single parent nurses

-
He gave one example. I gave one example. Is mine not valid?

People are being stabbed by an absence of public money?

It's not solely a money thing, it's loss of power eg. stop & search , 'human rights' etc The police simply do not have the power anymore to be effective. Concerning the recent stabbings etc that seems to be more of a cultural thing but sshhhhhhh .....we are not allowed to say

Nurses earn 30k in what universe do you live

-
A nurse with 15 years experience working full time typically earns that sum (or more). But, you know, facts.
-
According to http://PayScale.com , the median salary for a registered nurse (RN) in the UK is £23,000. Never let facts get in the way of you being a Tory lap dog

Try it yourself Julia, for charity, try and live her life for just one month. Then you can be sanctimonious.
-
What point would that prove?
-
It might give you a sense of the pressures she faces every day, and I can tell you, being a full time staff nurse isn't exactly a walk in the park either.

How do you know she earns £30 k plus? We only know she is a nurse and probably earns rather less. Be good to see how you would cope on that
-
Because that’s about what a nurse of 15 years experience earns in the NHS.
-
Sorry if I have replied already but £28,746 is the top level of Band 5 , which is the standard nursing grade
