No, this is what *some* feckless, drug-addled, hungover, good for nothing, lazy-arse parents mean for these kids. Most parents on low incomes or benefits do a wonderful job of caring for their children.https://twitter.com/angelarayner/status/980719457420050432 …

I don't see where this is getting us. Exploring reasons around materialism , how mental health impacts on choices - how massive income gaps impact on mental health. How junk food gives people short happy fixes. More interesting. Punching down... not so.

How much do you know about this? How many poor families have you spent time with? This country is producing malnourished children, some with rickets, and we all know that it is the fault of this brutal tory government. Things have never been this bad. Its social cleansing.
-
No, it's bad parenting. Parents are responsible for feeding their children. If kids are malnourished the teachers should refer them to social services. Not feeding your children is child abuse. Nip child abuse in the bud, don't blame the Government.
-
Yeah. Blame the parents not poverty. Nice one Peter.
-
Thats right. Put the blame where it belongs. Malnourished kids are malnourished because their parents don't feed them properly. All parents get child benefit. Parents without jobs or an income get benefits. I have been on the breadline. I know what its like.

MY dad worked my mum paid her bills, put clothes on our backs and food in our stomaches, she cooked from scratch, Dad smoked but did not drink, he had no car and took the bus service which then was cheap and excellent, we were poor
-
Your lot managed to cope. Others dont. JHB sneering at them doesnt get us very far.
-
So what is your answer to malnourished kids? I'd say first and foremost investigate the parents situation.
-
Our Lot didnt expect the state to pay for everything, if you did not feed your kids you were a shit parent so people went without and fed their kids, they paid their rents they niether smoked or drank (luxuries), clothes were patched and repaired, Men & women worked hard.

Never one to miss a chance for ignorant, prejudiced cliched judgments are you, Julia ? Does this informed view come from the understanding of complex social issues that your underpriveleged background gave you, or your years of personal experience working in social services ? (1)

..Jesus Christ. You really ARE a nasty, opinionated piece of work. Aren't you ? (2/2)

I'm not the one calling the poor feckless, good for nothing and drug addled. That comes from your dark heart.
-
I think that you will find if you read properly “I will block you” Angela rayner called out all the poor as living a Dickensian life (what of child labour?) and JHB specifically limited her comment to “some”. You may not agree with either but at least don’t make lazy comments.

What’s nasty about it? Being honest isn’t nasty.
