No, this is what *some* feckless, drug-addled, hungover, good for nothing, lazy-arse parents mean for these kids. Most parents on low incomes or benefits do a wonderful job of caring for their children. https://twitter.com/angelarayner/status/980719457420050432 …

So how do you account for all the parents who DO manage to care properly for their kids on exactly the same incomes as those who don’t?

I don't think there are many people on very low incomes who manage. If their kids are adequately fed it often means other family members are going without essentials. But you just keep on peddling the benefit scroungers myth.

You don't think? So you don't actually know. You are wrong, millions on very low incomes (living wage) manage, they raise their children brilliantly. Don't insult them with your Dickensian fiction. This isn't North Korea.

Bloody hell - when I think of growing up as a child in the 60s. Mum was a housewife, Dad working on low wages - we had nothing but were always fed & looked after!

So where is your compassion for those parents who are not so good as yours at coping with being poor? Or do you believe they're all feckless?

Just because your income is the same it doesn’t mean your circumstances are the same. Some don’t have family support, some have mental health issue, you need to get out of your Westminster bubble

Then how do you account for 26% of yr6 kids from deprived areas being obese? The issue is not about money but about basic cooking skills, nutritional knowledge, access to fresh fruit & veg and making the right food choices. In other words, parenting.pic.twitter.com/92dLEzsxyE

To be fair Julia your day trip to Lego Land cost more than some parents get to feed their family for a month.
