How many times do these people need to be told: Brexit isn’t/wasn’t/will never be about MONEY. Some of us care about other things like democracy, national sovereignty & community cohesion. (That said, I also believe Brexit will benefit our economy.)https://twitter.com/ninadschick/status/978402110210543620 …

I think people get that Julia. Fine words to rally round. They just don’t understand why you think a Parliament elected by proportional representation is less democratic or that UK and other 27 don’t have sovereignty in EU. They do. And has Brexit helped community cohesion?

"Some of us care about other things like democracy". - To which I must reply, that I do not like your form of democracy. It is based on lies, falsity and deception. Where people are treated with contempt and indifference and where truth is sacrificed to secure an agenda.

The imperfection of politics is not a reason to ignore bad politics, especially when the stakes (as in the case of Brexit) are so high. Lies on any side should be called out specifically, not drawn upon to justify more lying.

No, we really didn’t have any debate of any merit whatsoever. We had no data, no impact studies, no policy proposal, no strategy other than the vapid ‘Brexit means Brexit”. We had sloganeering , lies and propaganda.

PR is essential for this country. But of course you don’t want it if you’re a Tory in power. It would weaken you. Doesn’t mean it’s not best for the country. It is. So you and your friend Julia can say “shut up, debate over” till you’re blue in the face. We won’t, and it isn’t.

Charlotte, (I assume that's your name.) One day someone making a big decision about you will look at your social media history and make a judgement based on what they see. In real life, I'm sure you are a decent person and it would be a shame for you to be thought of otherwise.
