Wow, John McDonnell just referred to the “tragic” death of a homeless man outside Parliament. Did he mean the convicted paedophile who had repeatedly entered the country illegally, that one? Not much of a tragedy if you ask me.

Once again (sighs deeply), where is the hate or xenophobia in my tweet? I’m not really bothered that a paedophile who wasn’t supposed to be here anyway has died. Is that hatred? Or xenophobic? No.

You choose to have a dig at labour for having heart and compassion, for caring about the death of a homeless man - for it would seem none of them knew about his previous convictions, to them, an innocent homeless person who lost his life. Why make it out to be something it isnt?

Sounds like she is having a dig at labor for being so desperate to tell the world how much they care they don't bother looking into a situation or getting the facts right before going off half cocked. That is certainly a bad habit to have if one wants to write legislation.

Are you telling me the man didn't have his convictions and immigration status tattooed on his head.. Seriously?? So does that mean the Tories look into the history of all homeless people (even the made up 50% with mental illnesses).

Funny tho isn't it, how out of all the deaths of innocent homeless people over the last few months (that haven't got one single mention) they find one who was evil to belittle labour - yet no one questions why the Tories immigration allowed him entry after he was deported twice!!

I normally agree with you but not on this. We don’t know the details of his crimes, so we shouldn’t be quick to judgement. No-one deserves to die from homelessness in a civilised society & the authorities failed to ensure he didn’t slip back into the country.

You can be convicted of stealing sweets from a sweetie-shop, that is not the barometer used for the seriousness of a crime. He c/d have been convicted of lesser a form of sexual assault & given a requisite sentence. You might prefer the justice of the mob, I prefer law & order.

The law takes account of the details of any sexual assault & the courts are guided by sentencing guidelines. So yep @DarleneBernd I don’t want 2 disappoint u but that’s the way our criminal justice system works. Or shall we incarcerate some1 for touching a knee? Huh?
