Wow what he did there was just genius...
In actual fact it wasn’t really was it.... What it was though, It was actually ironic and funny, but considering how true it is and how rattled the left are because it will help prevent election fraud then I think he deserves credit for it.
Everyone knows a higher voter turnout means more votes for labour. People who vote conservative will do so regardless. It's only when people are sick of the shit and spin they finally come to their senses and realise they can change the situation
You may be right ultimately, and if Labour win an election through fair means then congratulations. However if they and their supporters are nervous that by insisting that i.d. checks are mandatory to prevent fraud then it makes me think there are illegal votes being counted.
Not nervous in the slightest I think this policy is wrong and will only make it harder for people to vote when voter fraud isn't a problem. Just getting people to vote in the first place is hard enough.
Why will it make it harder to vote?? Don’t understand this problem at all....
Well for example I don't drive. The only form of photo ID I have is my passport. Now I am political so I will go home get my passport and vote, however other people who are disenfranchised may think I can't be bothered too much hassle etc. Also some people don't actually have ID
I suspect what they really don’t like is the fact that they won’t be able to encourage students to vote twice in two different areas anymore - game’s up Labour!
Was prevented from voting in local elections a few years ago because someone turned up and used my name and address before i got there. So the fraudster got a vote and I was barred from voting. Was astonishing that you didn't have to show ID. Changes can't come soon enough!
Agreed; still amazes me that you can roll-up even without the polling card, tell them your name & they just tick your name off and give you a voting slip - wide open to abuse!
Postal voting needs to be tightened up too.
A good gauge for anything sensible is to ask if Corbyn & Abbott would like it, if they say NO is probably good to proceed regardless, if they say YES it is definitely utter juvenile madness.
As a student I did - in local council elections. It was perfectly legal even under Margaret Thatcher.
But they live almost equally in 2 local authorities and call on their services so why not vote for both? Businesses in the City of London get to cast more than half of the votes for the Corporation for similar reasons.

It is not illegal to be on more than one register but it is illegal to vote more than once. Either in one constituency or two or more.
